Flashdisk 64GB Segera Beredar

Transcend mengumumkan akan segera mengedarkan flashdisk ukuran 64GB. Flashdisk ini dinamakan Heavy Hitter, JetFlash V20 USB Flash Drive. Produk ini sebelumnya sudah diedarkan dalam rangka ujicoba di India pada akhir September lalu.

2 bulan lalu Transcend baru saja memperlihatkan sebuah USB flash disk dengan kapasitas raksasa, 64GB, pada seri V20-nya. Kapasitas ini sudah lebih besar jika dibandingkan SSD (solid state disk) yang saat ini digunakan pada netbook seperti Asus Eee PC 900 dan Acer Aspire One.

Mungkin karena kapasitasnya yang kian besar, Transcend V20 sedikit lebih panjang dibandingkan mayoritas USB flash disk. Dimensi V20 disebutkan 8,8×3,3×1,5 cm dengan bobot 24gram. Seperti lazimnya flash disk, V20 bisa berfungsi pada sistem operasi Windows, Mac, dan Linux. Software untuk fungsi kompresi dan/atau proteksi password untuk lebih mendayagunakan flash disk ini, seperti biasa, tersedia di situs resmi Transcend.

Belum diketahui berapa harga USB flash disk berkapasitas 64GB. Namun yang jelas, harganya tidak akan murah.(transcendusa / kompas/ketok)
